Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand
Narayan Ashram
Narayan Ashram, founded in 1936 at 2,734 m, is a spiritual and learning centre about 14 km from Tawaghat.
Narayan Swami founded the ashram in 1936. It stands 14 km from Tawaghat and about 136 km north of Pithoragarh, at 2,734 metres, in pretty mountain country.
Part retreat, part community and learning centre, it runs a school for children of the area and trains young people from nearby villages.
A library, a meditation room and a samadhi site are also here. It lies on the same mountain routes as Aadi Kailash, so many visitors plan the two together; ask us if you would like help with that.
